About The Author

Finding Light In The Dark A Survivor’s Memoir

As a former Health and Safety Environmental Manager, and a devoted wife and mother, I was no stranger to life's challenges. But nothing could have prepared me for the most daunting trial I would face. At the age of 39, on February 23, 2020, I suffered a rare hemorrhagic stroke. Doctors informed me that only 20% of people in the world experience this type of stroke, with a survival rate of just 10%. Against all odds, I was one of the fortunate survivors.

The stroke stripped me of everything I once was—an active, unstoppable individual. It took away my ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow, and even see. Yet, despite these overwhelming losses, I began a journey of recovery driven by unwavering determination and resilience.

In this book, I share my deeply personal story of survival and the arduous path I took to reclaim my life. It is a tribute to the strength of the human spirit and the resilience we all possess. I recount the many challenges I faced, the obstacles I overcame, and the invaluable lessons I learned along the way.

Through my story, I hope to inspire and uplift others facing their own struggles. My journey proves that even in our darkest moments, there is light to be found, and hope to be comprised. This book is not just my story; it is a testament to the untapped strength within all of us, waiting to be awakened in the face of adversity.
